Is Dutch Education Hub only for expat parents?

Primarily, yes. Our resources are built for parents who didn’t grow up in the Dutch education system and need things explained in English. That said, Dutch parents who want extra practice material for their children are welcome too — the worksheets follow the same curriculum. The parent guides and explanations, though, are written for people who are new to the system.

Our worksheets currently cover Groep 3 through Groep 8 of basisschool. Our blog, parent guides, and FAQ content cover the full Dutch education journey — basisschool, secondary school (VMBO/HAVO/VWO), and the route to HBO and university. We’re actively developing resources for secondary school levels as well.

Both. That’s the whole point. Every worksheet is written in Dutch first — because that’s what your child needs to practise — with the English translation in brackets underneath every instruction, every question, every explanation. Your child reads the Dutch. You read the English. You’re both on the same page.

Because these are digital downloads, we can’t offer refunds once the file has been accessed. However, if something is genuinely wrong — a file won’t open, pages are missing, or the content isn’t what was described — contact us and we’ll sort it out immediately.
Yes. We have a free Dutch Education Cheat Sheet (the entire school system on one page), free sample worksheets, and a Dutch school terms glossary — all available when you sign up with your email on the homepage. Our blog is completely free and packed with practical guides. We also share free generic ebooks on our Instagram channel — no signup needed, just follow and download. The paid worksheet packs are for parents who want structured, bilingual, curriculum-aligned practice material they can use consistently with their child at home.
Not every child needs the same thing. Some kids are fine with maths but struggling with begrijpend lezen. Some need extra tafels practice. Some are preparing for a specific LVS toets and need targeted revision. Customised worksheets are built specifically for your child’s needs — you tell us the groep, the subject, and the problem area, and we create a worksheet pack just for them.
As it takes a lot of research work typically 5-7 working days after we’ve agreed on the scope and received payment. Larger or more complex requests may take a bit longer — we’ll always tell you upfront.

Tell us your child’s groep, the subject they need help with, and what specifically is difficult (for example: ‘Groep 6, werkwoordspelling — she doesn’t understand the -t/-d rules’ or ‘Groep 5, division with remainder — he keeps getting stuck’). The more detail you give, the better we can tailor the worksheets. We’ll confirm the scope, the price, and the delivery time before we start.
It depends on what’s needed. A focused pack on one specific topic is less than a broad multi-subject set. We’ll give you a clear price before we start — no surprises. Yes. If you’ve received a rapport and you’re staring at it with no idea what half the terms mean — send it to us. We’ll walk you through it in English. What the scores mean, where your child is doing well, where they might need extra support, and what to ask the teacher at the next 10-minuten gesprek (parent-teacher meeting). This is part of what we do.
We can help you understand what the school is saying and prepare what you want to say back. We can help you draft emails to teachers in Dutch, explain school letters and notices, and prepare you for parent-teacher meetings. We’re not translators — but we’re educators who understand both the system and the language barrier, and we’ll help you navigate it.
Yes. We have a full Transition Guide on the site — grade equivalence tables, subject-by-subject gap analysis, and recommended resources for each country. We also plan to offer Transition Packs — targeted bridge worksheets covering the specific gaps between the Dutch curriculum and CBSE, UK National Curriculum, or US Common Core. If your child is moving and you’re worried about the academic adjustment, this is exactly what we built those resources for.
